Supervision by the Dutch Central Bank
Under the Supervision of Trust Offices Act (“Wet toezicht trustkantoren / Wtt”), it is prohibited to carry on the business of a trust office from a Netherlands-based establishment without a license. The Wtt states that the Dutch Central Bank (“DCB”) is responsible for supervising and licensing trust offices.
Trust offices complying with the statutory requirements on the trustworthiness and expertise of persons who determine policy at a trust office, and with the requirements concerning operations and organisation, will receive a license from DCB and will be included in DCB’s public register.
On 17 May 2011 the Dutch Central Bank granted DTS a license allowing DTS to start with its activities. As a result DTS is now included in the register of licensed Trust Offices of the Dutch Central Bank [click here for register]
